We're back

We are back, the roads were so bad yesterday that we had to stay an extra day....but thats OK because the MRI looked good!!! I am so happy! Alyvia is still going to have to have an MRI every few months to make sure the tumor isn't growing back, but the longer she can go without it coming back then the better her chances are that it won't come back.
I was really nervous with Livie being put under by general anesthesia, but she did really well....she didn't stop breathing....the whole day, yippie! (they placed the IV and took her blood when she was under....so that was really nice.) We also got to see some of our old nurses and techs from the NTU. We don't really miss the hospital, but we do miss the awesome nurses and techs we had, including the ones we didn't get to see yesterday. So here's a shout out to all our old nurses and techs.....WE MISS YOU GUYS!!

Alyvia had a pretty good trip to the hospital (I hear those are pretty rare) so that was really nice. We also got to stay with "Granny Goose," Livie's great Grandma and we had a really good time. Thanks Grandma!!

On a sadder note, when we were at the hospital I ran into a family I had met in the PICU. Their little boy was almost 2 and they found out he had a brain tumor....his was cancerous. Those kind of tumors are called "cancer of the soul" because the cancer spreads and it spreads with a vengeance. Their little boy, Carson, had gone through 4 rounds of chemo and his little body just couldn't go through anymore. When I saw his mom on Monday she said that the cancer had spread so much that there was nothing more they could do for her little son.....the cancer is killing him.
I can't help but think we could be in a similar situation with Alyvia. I don't understand why these things happen. Life really is a gift and we just have to enjoy each day we have. My heart goes out to Carson and his family.

That is fabulous! I love to hear your good news. It is crazy to see this cute picture of Livi on the horse right next to the pic of her in the hospital. I can't believe that was just a few months ago. She is amazing, I am so glad things are well.

We are SO excited about that! The girls can't wait to jump on the tramp with Livie and play in the sprinklers and all the fun stuff they did last summer!
So I am trying to set up my own blog, and this is super confusing to me! How do I add my friends? Where do you get all your cute stuff? HELP!!!

My name is Rob and I saw your comment on my little boy Charlie's page and clicked my way over. I ended up reading your whole blog and I can't tell you what a bright spot that was in our day. So many of your pictures are crazy similar to what we're working throught right now. Do you teach lessons on how to be such a strong parent while your baby is going through hell? Thanks for the support.

Megan, I know this is a small world, but my nephew is Charlie Cooper. Ironically, I have been reading your blog for months. I am a cousin of the Miles' in Blackfoot and heard about your little girl through Sherry and Brandi. Just know I pray for her everyday, and had tears in my eyes when I read your comment on little Charlie's blog. Thank-you for praying for him and just know that reading your story has touched and is still touching lives. You have such strong faith, and Livie is proof that miracles have not ceased to exist. I only hope that the same special spirits who watched over your precious child's bed in the PICU are the ones watching over our little Charlie Cooper "Jack Jack". We sure could use a similiar miracle. Thank you again for sharing your story and giving hope to Charlie's parents in this trial.

What a beautiful little girl you have there! And a wonderful story as well. Sometimes you have to wonder why such terrible things happen to the littlest people. But it may be to show us that if they can handle it with such grace and love as your Livie did, then maybe, just maybe, some of the rest of us shouldn't take our lives for granted.
I found your blog thru my cousin, Charlie Cooper's, and I thank you for sharing your story! Best of everything for your daughter and you. I will certainly add her remission to my prayers.

megan - you have been an answer to many of our prayers. i know it was inspired that you found our blog for charlie - my brother needed you and your story and strength. if you knew his personality, you might understand why i am amazed and grateful that he is hanging on to you and your story for strength / hope / support / future. that doesn't make sense to you i am sure. regardless, i am so grateful for you and what you have gone through - i know its been hell, but it is a beacon for us right now. i pray livie will continue to grow and heal, just as i do for my sweet nephew. there are a lot of us who love you guys, and we've never even met you. Thank you for reaching out to Charlie and giving rob & angel something to hold onto…. Meghan – Charlie’s aunt.
